On Thursday 01 July 2010, we celebrated the official launch of our first new built development in Ribble Valley.  Councillor Lois Rimmer - Mayor of Ribble Valley joined Paul Lees and Olwen Baker, Chair of Adactus Housing Group to cut a ribbon and officially launch the new development on 2 Clitheroe Road in Sabden.  2 Clitheroe Road, Sabden is the result of the close collaboration between the Adactus Housing Group, Ribble Valley Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency.  To complete the development, we also worked closely with  R.P Tyson Construction, Kevin Shea Associates – and Architects, Bernard Taylor Partnerships.

The £852k development on the site of the former Service Station in Sabden was completed in March 2010 offering six two bedroom apartments available for rent.  It is of particular interest as its design is sympathetic to the surrounding conservation area of outstanding natural beauty.  Paul Lees, Group Chief Executive at Adactus Housing said: “We are pleased to have been able to work with Ribble Valley Borough Council on our first new build development in the area.  The six new apartments in Sabden are a great addition to our efforts of providing more affordable homes for rent in rural areas.”

Stuart Hirst, chairman of Ribble Valley Borough Council’s health and housing committee, added: “Affordable housing is one of the biggest issues facing Ribble Valley, with many young and single people being forced to leave the villages in which they grew up.  “The Sabden development will provide much-needed affordable accommodation for local people and the council is delighted to have worked with Adactus in bringing it to fruition.”
